How to use Performer Media Center
- Download the program now and install it (by double clicking on the exe file).
- Sign Up -- give us your details so we can get to know you and set up your account. Click the button in the upper right corner.
- Click on Artist (left middle) and search for an artist you'd like to play.
Build your own playlists
Find whichever tracks you like, choose Build Playlist in the Action Window (lower left corner) and drag the tracks into the window (click the mouse button and move the mouse, then release).
Download some tracks
See the little Down Arrow next to the dollar sign? Click it to make a local copy of the file. You don't need to do this to play, but if you do it, you'll be playing local tracks even if you're not connected to the Internet.
Buy MP3
Find a track you like and click on the $ sign. You can choose to buy an MP3 (mostly 320kbps, some 256kbps ). You can use it on any device that plays MP3 files or you can use it to burn a CD. Some tracks are only available at Amazon, where the bitrate may differ.
Buy CD
Find a track you like and click on the $ sign. Choose "Buy CD at Amazon" and the program will open the artist page at Amazon. It works the same as it does from a browser. If you have an account at Amazon, you can use it to do a One Click purchase.
Try some other things
Radio playlists give you choices of many types of playlists. Top Songs shows you what other people have been playing a lot. Put a standard CD in the drive and Rip it (we suggest ripping to APE or FLAC lossless for high quality). Import a few photos or videos. Play a DVD. Tag your files with whatever information you want to use (Keywords, for example).
What are all those little arrows?
Down Arrow will download the track. Right Arrow in the Album Column takes you to the Album Page for it. Right Arrow in the Artist Column takes you to the Artist Page. The Right (facing) Triangle is a play button, but you can also play by double clicking anywhere on the track.
...and all those words?
There is a Link Bar above the tracks on many pages. With it, you can navigate to Google or Wiki or even Amazon. You can return by clicking on the store at the top of the tree on the left. Or you can use the backspace key to back up. Or you can use the other little arrow at the top left of the track list (to the right of the tree).
How about that other mouse button?
If you're wondering how to do something, try a right click. It brings up many small menus that are specific to that part of the program.
